Operator by profession.Builder by compulsion.
I’ve spent 25+ years helping large technology organizations build ecosystems, markets, and operating capacity. I also make smaller things with my own hands—usually because a question has followed me long enough to become a quest, and I need to find out what’s on the other side.

The throughline / 02
Make the machinery visible.
My professional work begins where strategy has to become an operating system: people, incentives, partnerships, data, software, and decisions moving in the same direction. I make those connections visible, track the results, and use the evidence to inform the next plan.
Curiosity makes me take things apart, put them back together, trace sources, test assumptions, build tools, and preserve the record. Impresa makes selected work legible—professional, personal, and lab; distinct in ownership, connected by method.
Working with AI / 03
Leverage without abdication.
AI is part of how I investigate and build. I use it to search, propose, challenge, code, and synthesize—but never to hide uncertainty, replace evidence, or claim authority. Evidence stays visible, dissent survives, and consequential judgment remains human.
Recurring questions / 04
A few things I keep returning to.
- 01What makes an AI-assisted decision trustworthy?
- 02How do we preserve context instead of flattening it?
- 03How can small teams operate with greater reach than larger ones?
- 04What changes when you build the tool yourself?
The name / 05
A word I couldn’t let go.
I went looking for empresa—the Spanish word that can mean both a company and a difficult undertaking—but the name was out of reach. I bought Impresa at auction instead, then kept it. Across Italian impresa and Portuguese empresa, the meanings include an undertaking, a daring act, an intent or design—even a figure joined with a motto.
For an English literature major with a business degree, Impresa felt exact in the right ways. Born in Washington, D.C.; mostly Texan by accumulation; a few other places along the way. I’ve followed far more questions than was strictly necessary and written an unpublished book or two. Virgo by month. Dragon by year. Incurably curious.
A selected public record of systems and questions pursued independently—to learn by building, preserve the evidence, and publish what is ready to withstand scrutiny.
